Volunteer Raccoon Rescue: One Small Act Makes a Big Difference

Young Raccoon in Transport Cage

Sometimes the biggest difference comes from someone simply deciding to help.
Thankfully, one of our volunteers stepped up when this young raccoon needed a safe place to spend the night instead of remaining out on the streets. That simple act of kindness gave this little one another chance while we worked on the next steps.

Volunteers Make Baby Raccoon Rescue Possible

Wildlife rescue is never a one-person job. Every rescue depends on people willing to answer the call, provide temporary care when needed, transport animals safely, or simply be in the right place at the right time.
Our volunteers make it possible for us to help far more animals than we ever could alone.

Every Rescue Matters

Not every rescue is dramatic or makes the evening news. Sometimes success is simply getting an animal somewhere safe for the night.
Those quiet victories are just as important. They give injured, orphaned, or displaced wildlife another opportunity to receive the care they need.
Thank you to everyone who gives their time to help animals in need. We truly couldn’t do this work without you.

In closing

f you find injured or orphaned wildlife, remember that not every animal needs to be rescued. Learning when to intervene can make all the difference. Resources like the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources and the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association offer excellent information on helping wildlife safely and responsibly.
